If you do not want to extend your warranty from the manufacturer or buy from your old dealer, then a GE car warranty, or something similar, is worth considering. The important concept here is to buy coverage from a company which has a genuine established reputation, and is not likely to start using small print as an excuse not to pay out. It is also worth considering that these established companies will allow you to use any mechanic in the USA, and sometimes even in Canada as well.
